American Education Week

Celebrating Education in America
November 14 – 18, 2016

We would like to invite each student and family to help us celebrate National American Education Week. Each day is designed with a specific purpose. See how you and your child can take part!

Monday – Kick-Off Day! Help us celebrate by celebrating what makes you special! Each student will be given a small square to decorate, explaining what makes him or her special. Bring it in to your teacher, and each grade level will make a “quilt” from their squares.

Tuesday – Apple Day! Students can draw an apple in class and write what you like best about MacMillan! Bring it in to your teacher and the school will fill our “apple tree” with the best of MacMillan statements. You can also give your teachers real apples, apple pins, apple-scented candles or other apple-themed items.

Wednesday – Parents are Educators Too! Join us today for our MPS Thanksgiving lunch!

Thursday – Everyone’s an Educator! Celebrate all of the other people who help make education successful. Bring a note or small gift to someone who helps you be successful such as a principal, secretary or book keeper, bus driver, nurse, lunchroom worker, custodian, or specialists.

Friday – Future Day! Your education will take you so many places! Wear a shirt that shows us your future college or even dress up for your future career!
